Plastic mat moulding — an even field around the work, without card

Plastic mat moulding is a flat wide profile that creates an even field around the artwork, as a card mat does, but without creasing, yellowing or absorbing moisture. The section holds around two hundred polystyrene items, profile width from 24 to 45 mm, from 37 RUB per linear metre.

How it differs from card

Card warps along the edge and yellows at the cut over time, especially in a room where humidity swings. A plastic profile has neither problem: the edge stays clean for years and the field can be wiped. There is another difference — the mat is assembled into the same corner as the frame, so the whole construction is cut and pressed in one pass.

What the section holds

More than half is modern in style, the rest universal with a little classical. By shape it is the flat and straight profile, and low: 13 to 19 mm high. Ivory beige leads the colours, then silver and white — neutral tones that do not argue with the work. The decoration is usually gold or silver along the edge.
