How fine the work will be. At levels 1 and 2 the sectors are large, the edges read without a magnifier and neighbouring shades differ clearly — picking the wrong number is almost impossible. At levels 4 and 5 fine detail is drawn out: strands of hair, reflections, highlights on glass.
Level 1 or 2. Such kits are finished in a few evenings, and that matters more than it seems: a first painting carried to the end decides whether there will be a second. If you are choosing for a child, watch the size too — reaching the middle of a large canvas is hard for them.
It is linked, but they are separate parameters and are filtered separately in the catalogue. As a rule, a higher level means a wider palette: more shades mean smoother transitions and smaller sectors. Still, a complex design can sit on a modest palette thanks to fine detail alone.
You can, but know the cost: small sectors need a fine brush, good light and noticeably more time. Plan the work in areas and keep the canvas on an easel rather than a table — it is easier to come back to.
