About this section

Fernand Leger: the machine aesthetic, cylindrical figures, builders and cyclists, pure colour and hard outlines.

Leger is among the most paintable artists of the twentieth century: he built a picture from large planes of pure colour outlined in black, with almost no tonal transition. Structurally it is closer to a poster than to a painting. The section currently holds 71 designs.

Sizes, difficulty and palette

Every design here is level 3 on the five-point scale. Palettes range from 17 to 24 colours.

What comes in the box

Every kit in this section ships the same way: a cotton canvas already stretched over a wooden frame, numbered acrylic paints, two brushes, a control sheet and instructions. Nothing else is needed to start, and once the paint has dried the canvas hangs on the wall without a frame.
